Driving YouTube Traffic with Pinterest

I bet you are wondering what YouTube and Pinterest actually have to do with one another. Well, aside from the fact that they are both highly utilized Social Media channels – they work as a great team to complement one another. This means that you can use both channels together to bring yourself more business.

Note: Before you start directing traffic to your YouTube channel, you want to make sure that it is complete and represents your business how you want it to.

Here’s how you can drive more traffic to your YouTube channel by pinning videos on Pinterest:

  1. Create a YouTube board on Pinterest. It helps if you give the board the same title as your YouTube channel. This way, whether they view the videos on Pinterest or on YouTube, they experience a consistent brand.
  2. Choose a video to pin.  Make sure that the video you select is an accurate representation of your brand or highlights a part of your business that you want people to know about.
  3. Pin your video. Once you have chosen your YouTube video, you want to provide a relevant description prior to pinning. The best way to do this is to research keywords. Make sure to include keywords related to your field or business. Also, a link to your website in the description helps to provide a way to find out more about your company, or could be a way to drive traffic to any specific landing pages you have created. Pinterest allows you 500 characters for your description – make the best of them.
  4. Now that you have started your YouTube channel board on Pinterest and pinned your first video – make sure to stay active. As you upload videos on YouTube, let it be a part of your promotional process to pin the video on Pinterest. Keep those videos coming for your Pinterest audience.
