IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Pinterest is starting to sell Promoted Pins, which can be bought using keywords. These ads will show up when users are perusing main categories and when they conduct searches. Pinterest hopes to build more partnerships and extend ad reach via this new opportunity.
Twitter users can now reset their passwords via text message. The new measure follows the announcement that Twitter will be handling suspicious login attempts more aggressively. Users must add their mobile numbers to their accounts online before they can use this new feature.
Last week Foursquare announced they would be splitting their app into two apps. The company will launch a new app called Swarm next week, for staying in touch with friends. The original Foursquare app will now be focused on discovering new places and will debut this summer.
